“娱乐设计” 即指所有与娱乐有关的设计活动,是结合了叙事(概念、角色、和事件) 、美学(表现) 、技术(实现)的体验设计 ,是当代设计发展的一个重要方向。随着科技的革新,“娱乐设计”的概念拓展,其应用领域涵盖游戏、跨媒体活动、现场演艺、现代社区建设、主题乐园/场所、新媒体,亦包括传统影视拍摄、特效、动画等。计算机技术和混合现实技术、神经科学、材料科学、大数据计算、人工智能等科技发展,更带动了新的娱乐设计的范式的形成。除了生活、工作之外,Everything is Entertainment成了一句越来越流行的说法。
在国际教育领域,有前瞻性的学院陆续迎接产业变革,提出“娱乐设计教育”的概念。 90年代末,加州Pasadena的 艺术中心设计学院 (ArtCenter College of Design)开设了 “娱乐设计导论”的课程,并于2008年正式成立 “娱乐设计系”。 该系基于影视制作、插画系的学科传统,用产品设计的技术训练为学科框架,复合以视觉和故事叙事教育,聚焦 概念设计、动画、游戏设计方向, 培养设计、呈现故事概念、场景和形象的设计师。 1998年, 卡耐基梅隆大学结合学校计算机科学和艺术学院的学科资源,成立“娱乐技术中心” ,开设2年的“娱乐技术硕士”学位项目, 培养游戏、新娱乐模式、人机交互方向的学生。
自2015年起,筹建中的上海科技大学创意与艺术学院与南加州大学电影学院建立了课程方面的合作。 2017年学院正式成立,黎瑞刚先生担任创始院长,学院在教学和专业培训上与泛娱乐产业建立了紧密的联系。
然而, 不同于人文学科和理工科, “娱乐设计”形成某种专业学科,是一个从产业和实践倒推回高等教育的过程。在这个过程中,“娱乐设计”教育面临诸多挑战:
- 首先,形成专业学科的前提,是要在知识和实践中总结出一些具有 共性 的内容,然而创意的生成同样要求 “个性” ,如何在传授“共性”知识的时候不失学生作为创作者的“个性”? 如何使娱乐设计具有普遍性,又具有强烈的个性?
- 第二,“娱乐”的种类繁多,在产业中分工明确。作为教育项目,如何平衡高等教育的 “全人培育” 的理念和 实际就业 出口 , 使娱乐设计的工作者 兼有较高的人文素养、艺术品味、前沿眼光和娴熟的技术?
- 第三,对如上海科技大学这样的科研型学府而言, 有前瞻性的技术如何通过设计,转化为产品进入市场? 而这对我们的设计教育又提出了怎样新的要求?
本次会议邀请了国内外行业和学界一线专家,就世界范围内已有的娱乐设计教育的概念、行业实践经验和人才培养方向进行讨论 。会议将聚焦娱乐设计的理念和技术,及其在跨媒体娱乐、游戏设计、交互设计等领域的实践;梳理 “娱乐设计”的概念、理念和案例,讨论不同形态的娱乐内容与体验的创作,以及如何深层次结合科技、设计和艺术;在此基础上, 得出扎实的、系统性的、有指导意义的结论。
期待本次会议在为上海科技大学的“娱乐设计”教育奠立框架的同时,也为娱乐设计学科的建设添砖添瓦。

Henry Jenkins is the Provost's Professor of Communication, Journalism, Cinematic Arts and Education at the University of Southern California and the founder and former co-director of the MIT Comparative Media Studies Program. He is the author or editor of 20 books on various aspects of media and popular culture, including Textual Poachers: Television Fans and Participatory Culture, Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide, Spreadable Media: Creating Meaning and Value in a Networked Culture (with Sam Ford and Joshua Green), and By Any Media Necessary: The New Youth Activism (with Sangita Shresthova and others). He has two more books that just came out this spring: Popular Culture and the Civic Imagination: Case Studies of Creative Social Change and Comics and Stuff. He is the co-host of the How Do You Like It So Far? podcast which explores popular culture in a changing world and has run the Confessions of an Aca-Fan blog for more than 15 years.

2009年到2015年,他作为创始成员之一创立了艺术中心设计学院的娱乐设计专业,后成为该专业主任,负责监督课程的创建、开发和整合,推出新专业,学院的过渡管理、设施与技术的开发和运行,以及教师的培训和宣传。
Thomas Bertling has an extensive background as a successful industrial designer & engineer, with a varied array of clients such as Disney, Samsung, or Whole Foods, and a diverse portfolio of completed products on the market, from state-of-the-art medical innovations to combat-ready military vehicles. This hands-on expertise gives him a distinct approach and remarkable edge in addition to also being an acclaimed design educator. With substantial experience teaching all levels of perspective sketching and construction to both university students and corporate clients, he has created comprehensive and proven curricula rooted in practicality and real-world application.
From 2009 to 2015, he served as a founding member then Director of Entertainment Design at Art Center College of Design, where he oversaw curriculum creation, curriculum development and integration, new track launches, transition management, facilities and technology development and implementation, and advisement and training of faculty.
Teresa Cheng

Teresa Cheng是南加州大学电影艺术学院John C.Hench动画与数字艺术系主任和教授。Teresa Cheng有超过30年的动画和视觉效果制作经验,曾担任制片厂高管和制片人等关键角色。她曾在美国梦工厂动画公司(DreamWorks Animation)和上海新成立的东方梦工厂(Pearl Studio)的合资公司担任高级制作主管,现任卢卡斯影业新加坡公司总经理。她参与的电影作品包括《史莱克》、《马达加斯加》、《蝙蝠侠与罗宾》和《真实的谎言》。在梦工厂任职的17年里,她走访和评估了上海、南京、台北、首尔、孟买、班加罗尔、温哥华、蒙特利尔和多伦多等地的CG工作室,最终促成公司过去几年里在中国和印度的发展。在视觉特效领域,她分别曾在客户侧(华纳兄弟制片厂)、供应商侧(Rhythm & Hues特效公司)以及初创公司(数字王国特效公司)工作过。

With more than 30 years of animation and visual effects production experience, Teresa Cheng has played key roles as a studio executive and a producer. Cheng most recently served as General Manager of Lucasfilm Singapore and previously oversaw production for the joint venture between DreamWorks Animation in the U.S. and the newly established Oriental DreamWorks (now Pearl Studio) in Shanghai as Senior Production Executive. Cheng’s feature film credits include Shrek Forever After, Madagascar, Batman & Robin and True Lies . During her 17-year tenure at DreamWorks, Cheng traveled extensively to evaluate CG studios in Shanghai, Nanjing, Taipei, Seoul, Mumbai, Bangalore, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto – culminating in the company’s expansion in China and India in the last few years. In the visual effects community, Cheng has worked as both a client (Warner Brothers Studio) and a vendor (Rhythm & Hues) and is no stranger to startups (Digital Domain).

Drew Davidson is a professor, producer and player of interactive media. His background spans academic, industry and professional worlds and he is interested in stories and transformational experiences across texts, comics, games and other media. He is the Director of the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University and the Founding Editor of ETC Press and its Well Played series and journal. He also served as the interim Director for Randy Pausch’s Alice Project . His professional activities are closely related to his research interests, as he has worked to help grow fields of study, creating forums and founding organizations to foster academic scholarship in new areas. He has supported the advancement of the academic study of games, along with the design and development of games for impact. He has also been involved in the growing academic study and creation of crossmedia communications and transmedia experiences. He explores the art, design and science of making media that matters, working to expand our notions of what media are capable of doing, and what we are capable of doing with media. He has written and edited books, journals, articles and essays on narratives across media, serious games, analyzing gameplay, and cross-media communication.

辛向阳,教授、博士生导师,XXY Innovation创始人,卡耐基梅隆大学设计哲学博士,四川美术学院特聘教授、台湾实践大学、澳门科技大学、江南大学、天津大学兼职教授。曾任江南大学设计学院院长、校学术委员会副主任委员、香港理工大学交互设计硕士课程主任等职务;曾应邀担任包括IXDA、GMark、红星奖、中国优秀工业设计大奖、中国智造大奖等重要设计大赛评委。具有跨机械、建筑、平面设计、油画、交互设计以及艺术史多个学科的教育和工作背景,主要研究交互、体验、服务设计和组织创新等新兴领域。辛向阳教授曾为宝洁公司总部、美国国家邮政局、香港特区政府、香港应用科技研究院、香港博爱医院、GE、华为、长虹、腾讯、震旦、三星等公司提供过多种顾问或研发服务。
Xiangyang Xin, Professor and PhD supervisor, founder of XXY Innovation, Honorary Professor at Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, guest professor at Macau University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University, Taiwan Shijian University and Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Xin holds a PhD in Design from Carnegie Mellon University with interests in interaction, experience, service and organization design. He served as the former Dean of Design at Jiangnan University, founded and served as the leader of MDes Interaction Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, served as a jury member on competitions including IXDA, G-Mark, Red Star and many others. With his education and professional background extending across design, architecture and mechanical engineering, Xin has spoken internationally on design and cultural studies. He has worked with partners including Efficiency Unit of Hong Kong Government, P&G, Changhong, Huawei, Tencent, Aurora, ASTRI (The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited), Samsung, Philips, etc.

王受之,中国现代设计和现代设计教育的重要奠基人之一。曾任美国艺术中心设计学院终身教授、美国南加州建筑学院教授、中央美术学院客座教授等,现为上海科技大学创意与艺术学院副院长、智能虚拟设计实验室主任。王教授出版了许多具有影响力的设计理论重要著作,如:《世界工业设计史略》、《世界现代建筑史》、《世界现代设计史》、《世界平面设计史》等,是国际设计领域公认的知名专家学者。同时,王教授也具备丰富的设计实践经验,从2000年开始参与各种设计项目,担任过万科、融创、中信、龙湖、中维、建业等多个企业的项目顾问。王教授在人才培养方面倡导理论与实践并举,更聚焦于应用型人才培养,对移动设计、人工智能产品设计、泛娱乐设计领域都有独到的学术见解和国际视野。
Shouzhi Wang is one of the most important founders of modern design and the education of modern design in China. He was a tenured professor at ArtCenter College of Design, a professor at Southern California Institute of Architecture, and a visiting professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Recognized by well-known experts and scholars, Wang has published numerous influential works on design theory, such as: A History of World Industrial Design, History of World Modern Architecture, History of World Modern Design, History of World Graphic Design, etc. At the same time, Wnag has a lot of practical experience in design. Since 2000, he has participated in various design projects, and he served as a project consultant for many companies such as: Vanke, Sunac, CITIC, Longhu, Zhongwei, and Jianye. Wang advocates the combination of theory and practice in talent training, focusing more on the training of applied talents. He has exceptional academic insights and international visions in the fields of mobility design, artificial intelligence product design, and entertainment design.
